Teleassistance

The Mitrol remote assistance system, called OpenVPNManager, is based on a connection between the Mitrol hardware and the remote operator via a secure, encrypted and documented VPN channel as OpenVPN (http://www.openvpn.net/). With OpenVPNManager the remote assistance connection starts from the control system towards a predefined and dedicated assistance server. This means that it is not necessary for the control system (either PC or PLC/CNC) to be exposed to the internet and therefore visible and accessible by third parties: the internet connection is outgoing and originates precisely from the control system in the field and direct towards the remote remote assistance server.
The remote assistance session is started at the request of the local CNC operator; the CNC is not publicly visible and only authorized technicians can access it.
